Feb. Guest Speaker - Cyndy Jividen

Our February speaker, Cyndy Jividen is the assistant director for the Clark County Park District. She has taught classes at the Davidson Interpretive Center since 1999. She teaches 18th Century hearth cooking classes, spinning wool or flax with wheel, and drop spindle classes. She also teaches making center seam pucker toe Indian moccasins. She showed us the Sumi-e work of Barbara Arnold and some puppets—BUT another of her talents is the ancient art of reverse painting on glass that she has been doing for 10 years. She showed us the many stages of painting on glass with oil paints. Her authentic art glass painting is done in layers and was very interesting. This was be a presentation in many different types of Early American art and a demo of reverse painting.
