JUNE 2010 NEWSLETTER
Dear Members and Patrons of the Arts:
It is with a degree of sadness, and yet a feeling of accomplishment, that I write this last note to you as your FAA president. It has been an exciting 4 years serving as your president, and the Fairborn Art Association is a great group to lead. You are truly wonderful people, representing as you do the many great qualities of artists in this world. What would this world of ours be without artists–pretty dull, wouldn't you think?
But I feel that I am leaving the leadership of your club in great hands with my very good friend Rose Schultz taking over the helm! And that is a very pertinent phrase on behalf of Rose as she has had strong leadership in her sailing club down at Houston Lake for quite a few years. We that know her well are confident in her new leadership role. I wish you the best, Rose! And my best wishes go out as well to Gayle Beireis as Rose's new Vice President and Program Chairperson. She has already demonstrated that she has the club at heart in her role as Gallery Coordinator.
My sincere thanks go out to the many people who made my job an easy one: to Barbara Rich, for her great programs; to Jackie Albright, for her wonderful newsletters and website; to Sue Red, for her treasurer efforts; and to Carole Janning, for her role as Recording Secretary. And although I will not list all the committee chairpersons by name, I have truly appreciated their individual efforts in making the club run smoothly.
But I would sure be remiss if I didn't single out Jane Trame for all that she does for the club and for her assistance to me in my years working with her. I don't think it is stretching the truth to say that Jane is the heart and soul of the Fairborn Art Association, doing any and all things necessary to move the club along, and, of course, providing us with some of the best, most economical, workshops in the whole country. Thanks, Jane, for all that you do for all of us!
However, you are not getting rid of me, as I intend to stay a member of FAA for years to come. I wish the best to you, my fellow members, and happy painting and creating!
Jim McCoy
President
